The University of Hawaii at Hilo split today’s Pacific West Conference doubleheader with Grand Canyon University at Brazell Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Vulcans (6-17 overall, 2-12 PacWest) fell 5-0 in the first game then came back to beat the Antelopes (19-16, 10-8) in the nightcap 7-4.

Having Kanani Numata at bat in the sixth inning proved key to the University of Hawaii at Hilo softball team in opening the Mizuno/Tournament of Champions with wins over NCAA Division II West Region teams in Turlock, Calif.

In a 2-1 victory over Humboldt State University, Numata’s sixth-inning single tied the game. She then delivered a sixth-inning two-run double to give the Vulcans a 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The Vulcans improved to 25-10.

This recall involves the Carolina Function Generator Kits that are mathematical function teaching aids. The kit consists of a yellow plastic lid, leg stands, base and whiteboard cards. The yellow lids in the kits contain excessive levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
