The University of Hawaii at Hilo split today’s Pacific West Conference doubleheader with Grand Canyon University at Brazell Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Vulcans (6-17 overall, 2-12 PacWest) fell 5-0 in the first game then came back to beat the Antelopes (19-16, 10-8) in the nightcap 7-4.

Although their flight out of Phoenix isn't until Thursday, the University of Hawaii at Hilo volleyball team seemed in a race with time as they put away Grand Canyon University 3-0 in an hour and 10 minutes.
Set scores were 25-11, 25-20, 25-9.

The win improves the Vulcans record to 15-0 overall and 5-0 in the Pacific West Conference while the Antelopes fall to 9-4 and 0-4.

Police in Florida have located a missing Arizona boy and his non-custodial father.

Nine-year-old Benjamin Kaiser-Griffin had been missing since May 21 and authorities in Chandler, Arizona, thought he might be in Hawai'i.

His father, 43-year-old James Anthony Kaiser, was arrested Saturday (September 5) in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and his being held pending extradition proceedings. The boy has been reunited with his mother.
