HI-PAL 5-on-5 basketball tournament registration opens

The Hawaiʻi Police Department is hosting a HI-PAL “Click It or Ticket” 5-on-5 basketball tournament during the Honomū Family Fun Day at the Honomū Gymnasium on April 27. 5,309 HELCO customers lose power in Puna and Waiakea Monday (March 25)

Hawaii Electric Light Company (HELCO) has announced that at 11:08 a.m. Monday (March 25), approximately 5,309 customers in the Puna and Waiakea areas experienced a momentary interruption when a transmission line unexpectedly tripped off line. The cause of the interruption is under investigation.

Average gas prices in Hawaii rise 2.6 center per gallon the past week

Average retail gasoline prices in Hawaii have risen 2.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $4.38/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 355 gas outlets in Hawaii. This compares with the national average that has fallen 2.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.64/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
