Kona burglary, theft reports (March 16-22)

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Community Policing staff compile a weekly listing of burglaries and thefts in the West Hawaii community. This update covers March 16-22.

BURGLARIES

No burglaries reported this week

UCPV (STOLEN VEHICLE)

On March 16, a reported UCPV at the Manago Hotel. F-61 reported that a friend used her moped and failed to return it. It is a Silver 2013 Moped w/ the moped registration number being H-34654

On March 16, a reported UCPV near the 97MM of Highway 11. A White 2005 Mazda 3 bearing Hawaii license plate HLM660 was taken.

UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY INTO MOTOR VEHICLE (THEFT FROM VEHICLE)

On March 17, a reported UEMV in the 5200 Block of Kihawahine Place, medication, vehicle registration/insurance paperwork & miscellaneous tools taken.

On March 19, a reported UEMV at Kiholo Bay, miscellaneous hiking fear & a Samsung cell phone taken.

On March 20, a reported UEMV at Kua Bay, Luggage containing medication, gold colored watch, long sleeve t-shirt & other miscellaneous items taken

Between March 18and March 20, a reported UEMV on Queen Kaahumanu Highway, an Apple laptop taken.

On March 20, a reported UEMV in the 6200 Block of Alii Drive, M-32 reported seeing an unknown male sitting in his parked vehicle, unknown male party fled the scene and upon further checks within the vehicle it was noted that nothing was missing.

THEFT

On March 16, a reported theft in the 900 Block of Henry St., purse w/ contents taken after being left unattended.

On March 16, a reported theft, F-31 reported sleeping at an unknown beach on Alii Drive. F-31 woke-up to find her Apple iPhone missing.

On March 18, a reported theft at Hualalai Village Condo’s, a Easy Rider rubber speed bump taken.

On March 19, a reported theft at Honls Beach Park, M-34 reported sleeping and woke-up to find his backpack missing.

On March 19, a reported theft fronting Walmart, A black Trek Mountain Bike taken.

On March 20, a reported theft in the 5700 Block of Alii Dr. Two (2) luggage bags taken.

On March 21, a reported theft in the 1400 Block of Kahakea St., jewelry taken.

On 03-22-13, a reported theft in the 1200 Block of Melomelo St., U.S. Currency taken.
