The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation announces WaiÄkea Recreation Center is offering two classes for youth ages 10-17. The programs will begin June 19th and run to July 21st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Big Island police have arrested a 42-year-old Hilo woman this afternoon (April 11) in connection with the theft of money from a public school booster club. Investigators arrested JoAnn Maldonado just after 2:30 p.m. today for second degree theft and false reporting to law enforcement authorities.

HawaiÊ»i Island police have charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with threatening notes left at WaiÄkea High School in Hilo.
