New fissure opens up between Pu‘u ‘O‘o and Napau Crater

A new fissure erupted between Pu‘u ‘O‘o and Napau Crater Saturday (March 5) causing a swarm of earthquakes in the area. Spatter is reaching 15-20 m into the air, above the trees.
New fissure eruption southwest of Pu‘u O‘o between Pu‘u O‘o and Napau crater. Spatter is reaching 15-20 meters into the air, above the trees.
