The University of Hawaii at Hilo split a Pacific West Conference doubleheader with Dixie State College at the Karl Brooks Field in St. George, Utah.

The Vulcans won the second game 7-5 and dropped the first game 11-3. The Vulcans are 20-7 overall and 16-6 in the PacWest while the Red Storm is 10-7 overall and 5-3 in the PacWest.

High surf advisory in effect from 4 am saturday to 6 pm HST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory...which is in effect from 4 am Saturday to 6 pm HST Sunday.

Surf along south facing shores will increase to heights of 6 to 10 feet tonight and Saturday.

Kona patrol officers responded to a reported robbery at 8:21 p.m. Thursday (March 18) in the parking lot behind a hotel on Ali'i Drive and Hualālai Road. Officers determined that a woman was walking from work to her parked car when she was confronted by two males demanding money.
