Average gas prices in Hawaii rise 2.3 cents per gallon the past week

Average retail gasoline prices in Hawaii have risen 2.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $4.39/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 355 gas outlets in Hawaii. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.2 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.66/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Strong 6.7M quake strikes Papua New Guinea, no tsunami threat to Hawaii

No destructive widespread tsunami threat exists based on historical earthquake and tsunami data. However – earthquakes of this size sometimes generate local tsunamis that can be destructive along coasts located within a hundred kilometers of the earthquake epicenter.
