Laulau sale benefits students D.C. trip

Steaming laulau, made with fresh beef and pork donated by Waimea ranchers, and Hawaii Island grown luau leaves and Hawaiian salt, will be sold to raise funds for the eighth grade East Coast Travelers’ educational trip to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York City this June.

Tickets are $10 for three laulau and may be purchased from any of the Eighth Grade East Coast Travelers and their families, or from the school office by Thursday, March 14.

Pickup of the steamed laulau will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 23 from WMS Classroom L-04.

This is the eighth year that a group of WMS students will make this educational trip to the East Coast to bring to life what they have been studying in American History.

For information about the tickets, call the school office (887-6090 Ext. 222) or stop by the office to purchase tickets between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on school days.
