Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 50-year-old man wanted for an armed burglary. At 7:45 p.m. Friday (August 7), a man identified as William Chase of Kurtistown went to a home on Uau Road in Kurtistown and reportedly brandished a firearm at the 19-year-old male acquaintance who answered the door.

A Hilo man has been charged with burglary, theft and drug offenses in connection with a break-in last week in Hilo. The burglary was reported after someone stole personal items from a home on Iolani Street last Wednesday (July 15). Police investigation led to the identity of a suspect, 37-year-old Alan Filoteo of Hilo.
