Between May 29 and May 31, an unknown person entered a business on the 27-0000 block of the Old Māmalahoa Highway in Pāpaʻikou without permission. Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a robbery Tuesday morning (September 29) in Downtown Hilo.

In response to a 6:02 a.m. call, South Hilo Patrol officers responded to the 200 block of Kamehameha Avenue, where a 47-year-old woman reported that she had been sleeping in the doorway of a business when a man tugged on her purse. During a struggle, he kicked her and then fled on foot with the purse.

Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a Thursday morning (September 10) burglary in Hilo. Shortly before 9 a.m., a black 1992 Nissan Pathfinder was used in a burglary on Amaulu Road in the Wainaku area. A half-hour later, the vehicle was found abandoned in Downtown Hilo in the area of Kilauea Avenue and Mamo Street.
