Big Island police are looking for a 55-year-old man who was reported missing.

Larry Allen Wall failed to return to his Hilo home on January 3. He is described as 6-foot-1, about 220 pounds with a fair complexion, brown short hair and brown eyes. He usually wears glasses. He was last known to be wearing shorts and an aloha shirt.

Dead 1,600 pound Russian spacecraft may be visible over Hawaii Friday (Jan 13) before falling to Earth

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory for the West facing shores of the Big Island from 6 p.m. Wednesday evening through 6 a.m. Thursday (Jan 12).

Surf is forecast to rise during the day with advisory levels starting at sunset. Surf is expected to reach heights of six to nine feet. Beachgoers should be cautious of dangerous rip currents and wave run-up along shoreline areas.
