The following announcement was made Tuesday, Jan. 10 by Fred Housel:
There is a lot of uncertainty regarding the outcome of the State Reapportionment Plan.
One thing that is certain is West Hawaii deserves strong representation on the Hawaii State House.
I am announcing my intention to file to be a candidate for House District 6 in the State House of Representatives.
One caveat: This could possibly change pending the final Reapportionment outcome.
If I become a candidate for office, then it will be necessary for me to step back from being president of Community Enterprises, although I will remain a member.
Sherry Eischen, Boardmember, has graciously stepped forward to lead Community Enterprises, which hosts the monthly Kona Town Meeting program.
