An autopsy conducted Monday afternoon (March 22) has determined that 52-year-old Karen Marie Celaya of San Jose, California, died from multiple traumatic injury due to a fall from height.

After conferring with Hawai'i County prosecutors, detectives released 58-year-old William Brill of San Jose, California, from police custody pending further investigation.

During the week of March 15, 2010, through March 21, 2010, Big Island police arrested 30 motorists for drunk driving. Five of the drivers were involved in traffic crashes. One was under the age of 21.

So far this year, there have been 351 DUI arrests compared with 289 during the same period last year, an increase of 21.5 percent.

Governor Linda Lingle has released $9.3 million to the Department of Education (DOE) for capital improvement projects (CIP) at four public schools on O‘ahu. 

The Governor released a $7,800,000 lump sum appropriation that the DOE plans to use for ongoing classroom renovations at Kaimuki High School, Lunalilo Elementary School and the Hawai‘i School for the Deaf and the Blind.
