MEDIA RELEASE
July is Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii (RMHC-Hawaii) and Mobi PCS “Recycle for Keiki†month. It’s a chance for everyone to help the families and kids staying at Hawaii’s Ronald McDonald Houses while at the same time helping to clean up the environment. There is even a prize drawing at the end of the month for those bringing their electronics in for recycling.
Almost everyone has old cell phones, cell phone accessories or other outdated electronic devices lying around their house somewhere, and this is the month to get motivated, and turn that clutter into healing power! The list of items eligible for recycling now includes:
* Phones
* PDA
* iPods
* Digital Cameras
* Tablets
* Chargers
Any condition, age, models, carrier accepted.
The public is urged to bring their recyclable items to any of the 10 Mobi PCS stores or 35 dealers statewide. To find your nearest location visit www.mobipcs.com/locations. Every cent raised from the recycling will be donated to RMHC-HI. While there, recyclers can also enter to win the special drawing for a Samsung Galaxy S2 phone + one year of service ($1,000 value), or a 2nd place prize of a Hele MiFi + one year of service ($750 value), just for caring enough to participate.
Mobi PCS has been supporting RMHC-HI since 2008 by providing families with complimentary phones and phone service while they are guests. Between that donation and recycling, Mobi has provided more than $42,000 to RMHC-HI over the past five years.
“Our Recycling for Keiki program is a win-win for the community on a number of levels,†Bill Jarvis, Mobi PCS president and CEO, said. “Not only does the program help remove these devices from our landfills, it turns something that merely takes up space in your home and transforms it into financial support for the keiki who rely on Ronald McDonald House during a critical time.â€
