…WINTRY WEATHER OVER THE BIG ISLAND SUMMITS…
A COLD UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL PASS NEAR THE STATE THROUGH LATE THURSDAY…BRINGING SNOW SHOWERS TO THE SUMMITS OF THE BIG ISLANDS. MORE SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE A POSSIBILITY WEDNESDAY THROUGH LATE THURSDAY NIGHT ABOVE 10000 FEET AS MOISTURE INCREASES OVER THE AREA.

INCLUDING…MAUNA LOA AND MAUNA KEA ABOVE 8000 FEET

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM HST FRIDAY…
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HONOLULU HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM HST FRIDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE ON THE SUMMITS ABOVE 10000 FEET THROUGH THIS EVENING…THEN DIMINISHING OVERNIGHT BUT INCREASING AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW…SLEET…OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
