A tale full of scandal and mystery will be filling the Parker School Theatre after much summer deliberation on the part of several students and director of fine arts Maren Oom.

This fall, Parker School Dramatiques celebrate the 13th production by performing “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” directed by Oom. The play tells the story of a headless horseman haunting Sleepy Hollow, New York.

One of the newer Dramatiques, junior Anna Moritz, said “It was a great choice for the fall show. Doing a classic story and a period piece will be something that Parker students will be eager to see and I can’t wait to see the outcome of the Dramatiques’ hard work.”

The show “takes us back to our roots,” said Oom. It mirrors the Tim Burton theme of the very first Dramatiques production, “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

Senior Daniel Gregg received the leading role of Ichabod Crane.

“I’m glad I got a lead role before my time in high school expires. Dramatiques gives you a chance to explore yourself by pretending to be someone else,” he said.

“Dramatiques gives us the opportunity to live the moments that we’ve always wanted to live and to do things in a new and different way,” junior Kieran Najita said.

A contest was held to design the program cover and promotional posters for the play, with the winning design came by junior Emily Boehm.

Dramatiques will be performing Friday, Oct. 22, Saturday, Oct. 23, and Sunday, Oct. 24. The Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday is a 3 p.m. matinee.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students. Box office opens one hour before the show begins.
