Police arrest second suspect in robbery of Tennessee visitors

MEDIA RELEASE

Big Island police have arrested a second suspect in connection with the robbery of two tourists at a coffee processing company in Kealakekua on June 11.

Matthew A. Alani, 18, of Captain Cook was arrested in Kailua-Kona at 9:20 a.m. Thursday (July 8). After conferring with prosecutors, detectives released him at 12:50 p.m. pending further investigation.

Detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section are continuing the investigation.
