The first Kokua Kailua Village Stroll of the new year will take place on Sunday, Jan. 17. Kokua Kailua turns Alii Drive into a pedestrian marketplace 1-6 p.m.
There will be a free concert on the lawn at Hulihee Palace at 4 p.m. and it is recommended you bring your own beach chairs or mat, which can be checked for free while you stroll Alii Drive.
Kokua Kailua is in constant need of volunteers to help with event promotion, basket donations and assembly. Contact Dorlene Kolina Chao at 936-9202 if you can help.
The next Kokua Kailua Village Stroll date is Sunday, Feb. 21.
Kokua Kailua Village Stroll is sponsored by the Kailua Village Business Improvement District, the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, Destination Kona Coast, Kailua Village Merchants Association, Hulihee Palace and Pacific Radio Group. The program is designed to rally support for merchants and restaurants and to remind residents to shop, dine and buy local.
