The April 2010 issue of Conde Nast Traveler magazine highlights its 12th annual Readers’ Poll – Top Spas. The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii’s Spa Without Walls along with eight other Fairmont hotels and resorts, has been recognized among the best in Canada, the United States, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean.
The Hawaiian Spa earned an impressive place on the top list with an overall score of 87.1. The Spa Without Walls is true to its name, nestled amid verdant waterfall, bordering the oceanfront shoreline and providing a healing retreat in a natural therapeutic environment with ancient healing arts infused into every treatment.
The results for the annual spa poll were derived from the magazine’s annual Reader’s Choice Survey, which drew over 25,000 responses this year. Spas were rated on a number of criteria including spa facilities, staff and treatments options, with scores ranging from excellent to poor.
Others singled out by readers included spas at the Fairmont Banff Springs in Alberta, Fairmont Turnberry Isle in Miami, Fairmont Scottsdale, Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, Fairmont Empress in Victoria, B.C., Bermuda’s Fairmont Southampton, Fairmont Mayakoba, and Hawaii’s Fairmont Kea Lani.
The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii’s award-winning Spa Without Walls lets you enjoy the splendor of Hawaii’s tropical climate with eight private outdoor waterfall hale (huts), six more oceanfront and three indoors. With the soothing sounds of water, the pleasant ocean breezes and the floral scent that fills the air, treatments integrate Hawaii’s natural therapeutic environment and ancient healing arts into every experience.
