The University of Hawaii at Hilo dropped a series opening doubleheader to Pacific West Confernce for Dixie State University, 9-1 and 8-4, on the Bruce Hurst Field in St. George, Utah. The Vulcans are 5-13 overal and 1-9 in the PacWest while the Red Storm is 14-9 overall and 8-6 in the PacWest.

A temporary agreement between the County and Oceanside 1250 Partners, the developer of Hokulia, will open the Hokulia bypass southbound from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for one week beginning Monday, March 22, through March 26.

The University of Hawai‘i’s 10 campuses will be officially closed to the public during the non-instructional days of March 22-25, 2010. The closure, which is the university’s normal spring break period, is in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and to recover energy savings to meet the budget shortfall.

The candle flame can unexpectedly flare up and the glass container can crack, posing fire, burn and laceration hazards to consumers. The firm has received five reports of the glass breaking and six reports of high flames. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
