The Vulcan Athletic Club will hold its monthly luncheon on Tuesday, February 14 at  noon in the Palm Lounge room at the Naniloa Volcanoes Resort.

Guest speakers will be head men’s golf coach Earl Tamiya and head women’s golf coach Jim DeMello. The public is invited to attend this event to get a breakdown on the upcoming spring season for both teams.

The Annual Dennis Rose Intercollegiate Tournament is slated to begin on Monday, October 31 at the Waikoloa Resort Golf Complex.

The two-day tournament field includes men’s and women’s team from the Academy of Art University, California State University East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Sonoma State University, Grand Canyon University, St. Martin’s University and host University of Hawaii at Hilo.

Joining the HOF are basketball player James Bradley, golfer Nick Mason and Dr. John Uohara.

The luncheon is scheduled for noon on Saturday, September 3 in the Nani Mau Garden banquet hall.

University of Hawaii at Hilo Women's Basketball Coach David Kaneshiro loaded up on guards for the 2011-12 season with the addition of Jameia McDuffie, Shannon Rousseau, Kirsten Shimizu and Thea Hanato-Smith to his roster.
 
“We are very excited that they will be a part of our program," said Kaneshiro. "They are all very skilled guards, smart players, and tough competitors.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo golf team is in Florence, Ala. for the 2011 NCAA Division II Golf Championships held on the Robert Trent Jones – The Shoals Fighting Joe Course, Monday, May 16 – Friday, May 20.

There will be 108 total participants among the 20 teams competing in the tournament representing 14 different states including eight individual qualifiers challenging the 7,126-yard, par-72 course.

A Keiki Soccer Training Session will be hosted by the University of Hawaii at Hilo men’s soccer program on Saturday, April 23 on the UHH Soccer Field.

The free clinic begins with an 8:30 a.m. check-in followed by a two-hour session beginning at 9 a.m. 

UHH Men’s Soccer Coach Bryan Green will be directing this clinic for participants 5-12. Participants are required to bring soccer shoes, soccer ball, soccer socks, shin guards, water and sunscreen.
