MEDIA RELEASE A minor earthquake occurred at 7:15:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14. The magnitude 3.3 event occurred 9 miles west southwest of Kilauea summit. The hypocentral depth is 9 miles. It was followed by a 2.0 temblor at 7:47.15. It was in roughly the same place and recorded at a similar depth.
