Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a domestic violence incident that was reported on Friday evening (September 4) at a home in Volcano. Puna Patrol Officers responded to a report of an argument between a husband, 41-year-old Ben L. Domingo, and his wife that escalated into a critical incident due to Domingo possessing a firearm.

The 37-year-old man barricaded himself in the house and remains there. He is believed to be the only occupant. The Hawaiʻi Police Department’s Special Response Team responded and neighboring residents were evacuated as a precaution.
