Residents in Puna heard the wailing of a Civil Defense siren in the Ainaloa subdivision Monday afternoon shortly before 4 p.m. Hawaii County Civil Defense authorites said there was a malfunction which set-off the siren and there was no emergency. A fire department crew was dispatched to shut-off the siren.
