Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a robbery Monday (October 12) in Kalapana.

Shortly before noon, a 64-year-old man was on his porch on the 12-4300 block of Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Highway 130) when a man with his face obscured walked up his driveway. When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect punched him, dragged him into the house, attempted to tie him up, ransacked the house and fled with items belonging to the victim.

Hawaiʻi Island police are renewing their request for information about a robbery the afternoon of August 6 in the area of Keawe Street just south of Mamo Street in Hilo.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on that date, a 33-year-old man reported that two males approached him from the back and began to punch him. The suspects reportedly stole the victim’s wallet and cell phone and attempted to take his backpack. The attackers then fled the area.

Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a man and woman who robbed a Volcano man and stole his pickup truck.

A 32-year-old Volcano man was parked on the side of Huina Road and Kaihenui Place in Kurtistown when a large white Chevrolet pickup truck pulled up behind the victim’s truck shortly after 2 p.m. A woman got out of the Chevrolet and struck up a conversation with the victim, then jumped into the driver’s side of the victim’s truck and threatened him with a knife.

At 5:23 p.m. Wednesday, South Kohala officers responded to a report of a robbery fronting a shopping area on Waikoloa Beach Drive near the intersection of Kuʻualiʻi Place.

Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a robbery Wednesday night (April 22) at the Kurtistown ballpark.

Sometime between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, a 53-year-old Mountain View man was approached by two men, who asked him for a cigarette. They then reportedly punched the victim in the face multiple times, hit him over the head with an empty bottle, dragged him into the men’s restroom, and continued the assault. They left with the victim’s black bag containing cash and other items and got into a car that had two women and three children inside.
