Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) is now open at the 24 mile marker. Motorists are advised to drive with caution as emergency equipment, vehicles and crews are still in the area of the brushfire.

The Hakalau Bridge located mauka of Highway 19 on Kanna Road, between Chin Chuck Road and Kaiwiki-Homestead Road will be closed for repair work starting on Monday, January 4, 2016 beginning at 7:00 a.m. and will remain closed for the duration of the project.

State Highways reports that Umauma Bridge will be closed to all traffic effective at 7:30 p.m. this evening (Nov 12) and remain closed until further notice.

Highway 11 in South Kona will be closed Tuesday (November 10) near the 93-mile marker from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The closure is to allow a tow truck to retrieve a vehicle from a ravine. Motorists are advised to avoid the area during that time. Police thank the public for their patience and understanding.

The National Weather Service High Surf Warning for the North and West facing Shores of Hawaii Island remains in effect. Surf heights of 20 to 30 feet along the north facing shores and heights of 15 to 20 feet along the west facing shores can be expected.

Hawaii County Police report Route 132 (Pahoa-Kapoho Road) is now open to traffic in all directions. The road had been closed due to a fallen tree and downed utility lines.

The Department of Water Supply will be conducting major water main repairs along Kamehameha Avenue in Hilo from 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. this evening (March 20-21). Kamehameha Avenue will be closed between Ponahawaii Street and Pauahi Street as the underground water main is being worked on.
