KAHU 91.7 FM radio in Pahala, Hawaii received FCC (Federal Communications Commission) approval on December 12, 2012 to dismantle its last existing tower site in Naalehu. The antenna and equipment was reinstalled successfully at the station.

Big Island radio station KPUA (670 AM) has pulled The Rush Limbaugh Show ‘effective immediately’ according to a Chris Leonard, President and General Manager of KPUA parent company New West Broadcasting. Limbaugh has been at the center of a firestorm of media attention after remarks he made about Georgetown Law Center student Sandra Fluke.
