The Department of Parks and Recreation announces the Kohala Pool will be temporarily closed from September 25, 2019 to September 27, 2019. During this closure, three stadium light poles that have become a safety hazard will be removed.

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that the Volcano Skate Park located next to Cooper Center on Wright Road in Volcano has reopened following repairs made by volunteers to damages caused by bicyclists. Effective immediately new skate park hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation has set a public hearing for September 30 to accept public input on a plan to increase stall fees at the Panaewa Equestrian Center. It would be the first increase in stall fees at the equestrian center since at least 1995.
