HELCO power restoration update for 10:45 a.m. Tuesday (Jan 6)

Hawai‘i Electric Light crews continue to make progress on restoring electric service to customers affected by recent severe weather conditions. About 150 customers remain without power, primarily along the Hāmākua coast, Wood Valley, and a few scattered areas in Puna.

HELCO power restoration report for 6:30 p.m. Monday (Jan 5)

Hawai‘i Electric Light crews continue to make progress on restoring electric service to customers affected by recent severe weather conditions. Today, repairs were completed in Ainaloa, Mauna Loa Estates, Orchidland, Nānāwale, Hawi (except for Beers Road), portions of Honoka‘a and Āhualoa, most of lower Puna, Pu‘ukapu, and most of the Volcano area.

Monday evening (Jan 5) update on power and water restoration

A water restriction advisory remains in effect for Pa’auilo area customers. Although water service has been restored to Waiohinu and Discovery Harbor, the water restriction advisory remains in effect for area customers. Due to a main break on the South Point Road.

HELCO continues repair operations and at this time, it is estimated that customers in the hardest hit areas will have service restored by midnight Tuesday.

Over 13K customers lose power after tree falls on electric lines

Hawaii Electric Light Company (HELCO) has announced that at 11:20 a.m. Friday (Jan 25), approximately 13,494 customers in various parts of the Big Island experienced a power interruption when a tree fell on HELCO’s transmission lines along the Hawaii Belt Road near the 27 mile marker.
