Hawaii Electric Light Company (HELCO) has received reports that individuals impersonating HELCO employees have been contacting residents and businesses by telephone and asking for personal information. Currently, the company is aware of calls made on the island of Hawaii. The impersonators are telling customers that their electric bill is overdue and must be paid or electric service will be disconnected.
