The Hawaiʻi Island Safety and Security Professionals Association has recognized Officer Tyler Prokopec as the “Kohala Officer of the Quarter” for the first quarter of 2017. A ceremony was held on Friday (April 21), at the Civil Defense headquarters in Hilo.

The Hawaiʻi Island Safety and Security Professionals Association recognized Officer Sidra Naki-Brown as “Kohala Officer of the Quarter” during a ceremony held on Friday (March 10). Officer Naki-Brown was honored for her diligence, persistence and determination while dealing with an unruly and violent suspect.

The Hawaiʻi Island Safety and Security Professionals Association recognized Officer Severo Ines as “Kohala Officer of the Quarter” during a ceremony Friday (August 12). Officer Ines was honored for intervening while off duty when a man threatened another driver at a gas station after driving dangerously in a stolen vehicle.

The Hawaiʻi Island Safety and Security Professionals Association recognized Officer May Lee as “Kohala Officer of the Quarter” for January-March during a ceremony on May 13. Officer Lee was honored for a traffic enforcement project that led to the arrest of a wanted person who was in possession of a loaded gun.
