Coast Guard, Navy responding to report of downed aircraft

The Coast Guard and Navy responded Thursday (July 14) to a report of a downed aircraft off the Kona Coast. Searching late Thursday were HC-130 Hercules airplane crews and MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crews from Air Station Barbers Point with a Navy MH-60R helicopter crew from the USS Chung Hoon (DDG-93).

MEDIA RELEASE Fire Controlman 2nd Class Alex Magno, of Volcano, is seen verifying that dummy ammunition is loaded before a recent dry fire of the close-in weapons system, CIWS, aboard USS Sterett (DDG 104).
