Governor Ige Signs Act 32: Licenses Midwives in Hawaii

International Day of the Midwife â€œMidwives: Defenders of womenâ€™s rightsâ€ is being celebrated today all around the world, and HawaiÊ»iis joining in by honoring midwives with a licensure law! Governor David Ige signed the bipartisan legislation to license midwives into law on April 30, 2019 as Act 32.

Demonstrators urge support for midwives at North Hawaii Community Hospital

About 30-40 demonstrators took to the sidewalks in front of North Hawaii Community Hospital on March 19, 2012 to voice their support for the Midwife program at the hospital and to protest any plan to reduce those services.
