PTA training advisory for February 2019

U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force units home-based on Oahu, are scheduled to conduct numerous types of training here involving helicopter gunnery, mortar and artillery qualification and close air support by A-10 Thunderbolt aircraft beginning Feb 4 through 28 Feb. This training may be heard or observed by the surrounding communities.

Oahu based Marines will be conducting aerial flare training at Pohakuloa Training Area, June 7, between 8 to 9 p.m.

A Marine C-130 aircraft flying at 16,000 ft. will drop flares that may be visible from communities around the Big Island. If inclement weather occurs on June 7, a back-up date of June 11, between 8 to 9 p.m. is scheduled.
