The April 7th 2010, “Officer of the Month” Luncheon will feature Officer Jared Cabatu.  In February of 2010, Officer Cabatu was able to follow a vehicle that was speeding and accelerating through town, and eventually rear ending another vehicle.  The car continued on, then stopped and Officer Cabatu was able to initiate a felony car stop. The driver was arrested and charged with nine offenses.

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee recognized Officer Aaron Loges as "Officer of the Month" for March in a luncheon ceremony Wednesday (March 3) at Paddlers Restaurant at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel.

Loges was honored for arresting 15 people in January for driving under the influence. In addition, Loges arrested five of those offenders for driving without no-fault insurance, one for driving without a license and one for having an open container of liquor in a motor vehicle.
