Fire/rescue units responded to a 2:20 p.m. alarm Monday (June 6) to an area one mile south of Cape Kumukahi Lighthouse for a report of a missing kayaker.

Fire/rescue crews responded just after 2 p.m. Saturday (April 3) to Alahaka Bay in Honaunau for an overturned kayaker in distress.

The kayaker had flipped over and was unable to right his kayak approximately 75 yards off-shore.
