Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a 15-year-old Kamuela boy who was reported missing. Hokulani Anakalea-Kahakai was last seen in Kamuela on August 14. He is described as Hawaiian, 5-foot-8, 180 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.

The Hawaii'i Police Department is asking the public's help in locating a 21-year-old Waimea man who is wanted on an outstanding bench warrant.

Kahiliokeanuinui P. Peleiholani is described as a Hawaiian, 5-foot-8, 166 pounds with a heavy build, black hair and brown eyes.

He frequents the Waimea area.

Anuenue Playground in Waimea closed May 10-June 4

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that Anuenue Playground at Waimea Park will be closed for renovations from May 10 to June 4, 2010. In addition, during the week of May 17-21, Parks and Recreation staff will be painting the outer section of the grandstand.

Big Island police have charged a Waikoloa man in connection with a robbery in Waimea last week.

Detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section charged 21-year-old Michael Bonelli at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday (April 27) with second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and second-degree theft.

A 38-year-old Kamuela man reported that he returned home after his morning walk Thursday morning (April 22) to find a male intruder, who threatened him with physical harm and removed two medical marijuana plants from his house.

A 51-year-old woman from Waimea died Tuesday (April 13) from injuries she sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Route 180, 150 feet south of the five-mile marker in Hōlualoa, North Kona. The woman has been identified as Jerridee L. Halliwell.

The woman complied with the request and later determined that the $1,600 check was bogus.

A 16-year-old Waikoloa boy was arrested on December 11 and charged with burglary in connection with the theft of a laptop computer and a desktop computer valued at $5,600 from Waikoloa Elementary School.

On September 7, a 23-year-old Kamuela woman reported losing her wallet. After the wallet was lost, an unknown person began using her bank card to remove cash from her account.
