NOAA’s Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary announced nine new primary members and nine alternate members to serve on its sanctuary advisory council. The new appointees bring a valuable range of experience to the council, which provides sanctuary staff with input and recommendations on sanctuary programs and management.

NOAA’s Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary will host a series of informational public meetings to launch the public engagement segment of the sanctuary’s management plan review. The statewide meetings are scheduled April 12 – May 14, 2010. Big Island meetings are May 3 and 4.
