The hospital is temporarily restricting visitors from going to all patient care units until further notice. Hospital employees spent Thursday afternoon informing patients and their primary contact persons of the temporary restrictions.

Escapee from Hawaii State Hospital turns himself in

Honolulu Police have arrested a Big Island man who was wanted for escaping from the Hawai’i State Hospital on Sunday (March 21). Alexander Aehegma was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Monday (March 22) on Oahu after calling to turn himself in.
