Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident that seriously injured a pedestrian a week ago Saturday. About 11 p.m. on March 19, Kaʻū patrol officers responded to a report of a traffic accident involving a pedestrian on Hawaiʻi Boulevard, in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision.

Big Island police have identified a man killed June 10 from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle/pedestrian crash on the Hawai'i Belt Road in Captain Cook as 41-year-old Bounxou Saychantha, who had no permanent address.

Big Island police are asking for the public's help in providing information about a hit-and-run accident Tuesday (July 27) in Hilo. The accident took place at the intersection of Ululani Street and Ponahawai Street around 12:30 p.m. A 15-year-old boy was crossing Ponahawai Street heading north when a black pickup truck traveling west on Ponahawai struck him and left the scene.
