Fire and Hazmat crews responded to a 10:08 a.m. alarm Tuesday (Nov 1) to 999 Kalanianaole Avenue for leaking fuel at the Aloha Petroleum Hilo Harbor bulk fuel facility.

Crews found diesel fuel flowing out of two overflow pipes onto the ground from a storage tank being filled from a barge at Pier three. Approximately 14,700 gallons of fuel was spilled onto the ground after an operator miscalculated how much fuel could be pumped into the tank.
