The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory for north facing shores of Hawaii Island until 6 p.m. Friday (Nov 11). A large north-northwest swell is building tonight bringing dangerous surf to exposed areas. The surf will remain elevated through Friday before slowly declining Friday night and Saturday.

A low pressure storm system that tracked through the Aleutian Islands earlier in the week has sent a large north-northwest swell that will begin to arrive this evening.
