Hawaiʻi Island police are renewing their request for the public’s help in identifying a person whose partially decomposed body was found in a West Hawaiʻi public park last summer. Police hope someone will recognize a two-dimensional facial reconstruction from the skull recovered at the scene.

Kamakana playground closed for repairs

MEDIA RELEASE Effective today, the Kamakana Playground at Harold H. Higashihara Park located in Keauhou, Kona (78-7300 Kuakini Highway) will be closed for repairs while P&R staff works to upgrade the facility. The Department of Parks and Recreation apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience during this closure.
