Big Island Police would like to inform the public about an increase in vehicle break-ins at a popular parking area for hikers visiting the Kaloli coastline in Puna.

The break-ins are occurring at the dead end of Beach Road off Kaloli Drive in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision. Police have recorded eight break-ins during the first four months of 2010 compared with one during the first four months of 2009.
