A witness saw the fisherman swept off the shoreline cliff by high surf conditions about 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The man was last seen floating in the water about 50 meters offshore.

Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating an incident Wednesday evening in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision in Puna.

In response to an 8:25 p.m. call, officers received a report that two men wearing masks had gone to a home on 23rd Avenue and assaulted a 64-year-old man. The men then reportedly fled the area in a white pickup truck described as possibly a Nissan or Datsun.
