Bridge repair projects coming up on Hamakua Coast and Puna

Ka‘ahakini Stream Bridge on Old Māmalahoa Highway in Hakalau along the Hāmākua Coast will be closed to reinforce the support beams on April 22, weather permitting. The first wooden bridge on North Oshiro Rd in Mountain View will be repaired Tuesday, April 30 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 57-year-old Hāmākua woman. Kelie Ann Feliciano Sensano, also known as Kelie Sensano, is described as Caucasian, about 5-foot-5, 150 pounds with straight brown neck-length hair and green eyes.

Two vehicle crash in Honokaa sends seven to hospitals Tuesday (Jan 1)

Fire/rescue crews responded to a 1:05 p.m. alarm Tuesday (Jan 1) to a two vehicle accident on Highway 19 near the 43 mile marker. A full-sized van and car crashed causing extensive damage to the front of both vehicles and leaving seven injured.
