Red Flag Fire Warning issued for Leeward areas starting at noon Thursday (Nov 15)

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a red flag fire warning for Thursday noon to 6 p.m. (Nov 15) as they forecast strong winds and low relative humidty for Leeward areas. The affected areas are Ka‘u, Kona, Kohala and interior areas of the Big Island.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Sunday (Jan 29) for Kona and Kohala due to strong winds and dry weather conditions. A high pressure system North of the islands may lead to critical fire weather conditions.
