DLNR cautions ocean users that October is the peak month for shark incidents

“October is the month with the greatest number of shark bites,” said DAR Administrator Bruce Anderson. “We recommend ocean users exercise a little more caution this month especially, and also through the end of the year.

Licensed commercial fishers can now submit their monthly commercial fishing reports on-line using a new system implemented by the Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR). There is no charge to the fishers to use this new on-line system.
