The 11 p.m. Thursday (Sept 24) forecast track for Tropical Depression 6-C has shifted slightly south away from Hawaii Island. If TD 6-C does develop into a tropical storm it will be named Niala.

As of 5 p.m. Sunday (Aug 23) Tropical Depression Kilo was located about 715 miles (1,150 km) southwest of Honolulu. The system is moving farther away from the main Hawaiian Islands.

As of 11 p.m. HST Thursday (Aug 6) Tropical Hilda was centered about 1,380 miles east-southeast of Hilo moving west at 13 mph. Hilda is forecast to become a hurricane by Friday (Aug 7).

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Warning for south, north and east facing shores of Hawaii Island until 6 p.m. Thursday (Aug 6). Surf is forecast to be in the 10-15 foot range.
